Thanks everyone for being in the Waste Reduction group!
I know we're all busy doing good things to reduce waste in the real world. My intent with the group is mainly to fascilitate quick and easy consulting amongst each other, especially to help others in other parts of the world who don't yet have the databases and great tools already developed so we can learn from each other.
Probably you already know Washington state has made progress by requiring electronics manufacturers to pay to recycle their own products free to the consumer:

Seattle has stepped up its recycling enough that ideally people should have very little trash. Most can be composted, given away via database or thrift shop, or composted - even meat and dairy through yard waste pick up since 3/30/09.
