Please take a few moments and tell us where you live, why you were
interested in joining this group, and how you see us using this space.
You might also want to share how you see your work relating to a larger
conversation about the values of oneness. And, how can WiserEarth serve
people who are drawn to this shift in consciousness?

Well I live in Marin county, and was made aware of the Global Oneness Project through Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee. As for how this space may be used, I really don't know. Since my vocation does not have to do with oneness in any direct way and I am not currently a student there is not much opportunity for dialogue. All I can say is I really long to be involved in some way.

Hello,
I come to this group because the concept of One-ness is very apealling to me as a way forward and upward in human evolution and global renewal.
In becoming more one with the world, I am working on myself as a practice, and expanding out with work on relationships, healing of others, and acceptance of what is.
Things that I do as lifestyle are parenting, flying, body development, and meditation of course. I paint sometimes, and recently wrote and created artwork for a cookbook for a fundraiser for a Native American prenatal program. "Breaking Bread For Peace. "
The book is a collection of culture and recipes from around the world, so it seems to have some corelation to this site. I would love to do another one, and if any members would like to add in to it, it might be a nice way to use this forum.
I feel it is important to try and connect with as many people and cultures as we can, and my book project helped me do that.
Please write me if you would like to know more.
I think this forum would be a great conduit for socialization for people like me who travel to many places in the world.
I hope to meet some of you here. Kelly |

My name is Peggy, and I feel very privileged to be part of this amazing community.
I am eader to explore how we can be of support to each other in both our local/global initiatives. |

My name is Suzannah and I live on five acres in South East Queensland, Australia
with my husband and two sons.
We have recently made the decision to open one acre of our property to be used as a community garden. We have called it Organic Fusion Community Garden. From this beginning it is also our intention to operate Organic Fusion "Pay it Forward" Community restaurant two nights per month. Our vision is about creating community within our own neighbourhood working towards the experience of oneness. I was inspired to join this group given that the title was about Global Oneness and after witnessing the volume one films I could see the connections between our vision and some of the stories portrayed in the films Much Love Suzannah |

Hi! My name is Hannah, I work as the Creative Director for the Global Oneness Project -- we are based in San Rafael, California.
We started the group on WiserEarth as an experiment, not knowing what would happen. We have a similar group on Facebook which has about 200 members. But the question remains: what do people want out of these groups? To connect with others who have been moved by the values of the Global Oneness films? Is having a conversation about values of oneness online even appealing? Do we need to take these conversations into the more intimate spheres of our lives: our own families, communities, and workplaces? I am wondering out loud about these questions, hoping that others will pick up the thread. We want very much for people who have been inspired by our films to be able to participate in a community, so that they can continue to nurture what was sparked within them. How do we go about building this? |

I work currently as a wildland firefighter based at the moment in missoula/ kalispell mt though alaska is where i live... though I am hungry to get into other work and get some of my ideas off the ground. and I am new to this direction in life and learning...
I think 'media'... unrehearsed 'reality' spoken-word communication trapped on film... is the future for culture preservation/ social change...
I think it is great that the global oneness organization has a presence here, and that you do the work that you do; that you are able to show firsthand through media how the idea of 'oneness' exists across cultures around the world etc. I too desparately wish there were ways to expose more people to your organization, get more youth involved in preserving their own heritage/ culture, their own perspectives... thru film. It seems like lots of times the most priceless important viewpoints are the perspectives that dont get heard... and subsequently get lost.
You are probably correct that this kind of conversation belongs more in reality..., but I think resources like this are great because it can bring so many different perspectives into contact with each other: lots of times the people we associate with in our communities, families etc. - to some degree - share our outlooks. In other words - for my case - I have never been to CA, and find it refreshing/ educational to be exposed to educated people who are thinking progressively about making the world a better place...
I think an effective idea could be if people from around the world/ nation who are real interested in this type of work could take it upon themselves to try to develop their own film consistent to the work you do, maybe find some old interesting person from their family and capture on film some of their thoughts etc., get them to talk about how their family/ community developed, some interesting incidents. I can think of some truly awesome images / history from people I know/met in bush ak, and some awesome spoken word stories from guys i have worked with about close calls fishing or firefighting or encounters with bears other wildlife etc., just little three minute random smoke break side conversations that leave real clear images in your mind and really bring you into that moment in their lives ...
I have just begun to check out the videos on your site but like this guys comments on intuition... http://www.globalonenessproject.org/videos/orlandbishopclip3
so i think if there was a reward system way to encourage people to make their own films... that might be a great community building tool....? maybe not... technology is becoming more and more accessible though... peace |

Hello Hannah,
Of course it would have to start with connecting with others, if people who are moved by these values cannot connect with each other then how successful can we be in relating to everybody else? I don't find my situation to be particularly conducive to initiate these conversations, and even if there is a beginning it doesn't seem to go much farther than that.
Of course I don't know that having a conversation about oneness goes far enough, although there is certainly a difference between writing something about oneness and relating in a more intimate, conversational way. I would hope the way we relate reflects oneness regardless of what the particular content happens to be in that moment, maybe it just has to start with the fact that we respect each other as those interested in participating..
Is the Facebook group easy to find? I find myself not taking too much interest in the social networking sites, but the Global Oness group would be worth looking at.. |

Do any of your films come from alaska /arctic? Their is a lot of rich culture up their that is slipping away, I bet with your talent/ skills you all could develop an awesome documentary/ group of interviews; preserve some of the last authentic voices up there... travel in the fall when the leaves are changing thru the villages of the yukon and kuskokwim rivers and up around kotzebue. I think you would get a lot of material that is consistent with the direction of your organization's other efforts.
if anyone is interested they should check out the books: ordinary wolves seth kantner, fiction ... really addresses some cultural issues
some older classics about/ and by legends;
and i would be interested in any other books/ resources from different out-of-the-way cultures that address the idea of spiritual 'oneness'... i am thinking books like p mathiessen snow leopard etc. http://www.amazon.com/Snow-Leopard-Penguin-Nature-Classics/dp/0140255087 ... peace |

Hi, I’m Michelle. I live in San Rafael, California. I am the outreach coordinator for the Global Oneness Project.
I was really pleased to find in the first week of launching this group that our 60+ members live in 13 countries and 13 states in the US and are engaged in many kinds of work. This seems to me like a unique opportunity to learn from a broad spectrum of people, while at the same time searching for the common threads holding us together. And Wiser Earth feels like the right place for us to meet. I just like the idea of Wiser Earth: many people from many places serving the world’s needs, coming together in one domain—like a shared mind. How can this group contribute to the broader Wiser Earth community? I don’t know. Perhaps by reminding us that we’re all part of one body, in desperate need of coherence and orientation. Perhaps by offering insights that would help anyone, no matter what work they do. Perhaps by acknowledging that all of our efforts to serve the world spring from a shared heart. I have spoken to many people about the Global Oneness films, and our conversations have ranged from the mundane to the sacred. I think these films offer numerous entry points to an understanding of what it means to be part of one world; and I hope this group embraces that complexity. Several of the discussion threads created so far use the Global Oneness films as focal points, which seems a good starting place. We’ve all seen them. They give us something to talk about. But I also really appreciate some of you bringing in other examples to initiate discussion: like the short film More, and the article about Service. Please keep them coming. Discussions are not the only possibility for engaging here. I have arranged some selections of videos around themes in the wikis: so far around Peace, Sustainability, and Spirituality. Please feel free to contribute to these. (If you click on EDIT, you can go directly into the main document and add or subtract videos, group them together, or offer comments.) I have also spoken to numerous educators around the world who have expressed interest in creating a group page where they can share their curriculum and projects. When school lets out for the summer, we’ll see what we can put together. Meanwhile I created a thread called Inspiring Youth where educators and youth leaders can share their oneness-related curriculum as well as responses from youth. Several people have also written to me with innovative ideas that seem worth spreading. Here’s one example: Carrotmob. Should we create a wiki to collect such examples of looking at our world in new ways? What would you like to see? |

Hello,
I’m Junice from San Rafael, CA and I volunteer for the Global Oneness Project.
I joined this group because I really appreciate the energy and intention that folks at GOP have to expose us to a variety of positive people and projects that are being implemented right now.
Because I’m not one to actively participate in online discussions (unless really compelled), how I use this space is to be in quiet solidarity with the many organizations and individuals that are creating positive change. In other words, this space is a way for me to connect, to get inspired, and to learn what else is going on in the world.
Finally, in answer to the question: how can WiserEarth serve people who are drawn to this shift in consciousness? I think WiserEarth ties in directly with GOP work. Through WiserEarth and through this group, hopefully we can all realize that we are all inter-connected, that one strand is not better than the other strand. And if we all work together with the consciousness that nothing is separate from the other, we can be united in our work (however small or large) for a different world. |

Hannah,
Thank you for raising the question that often has no voice in this "virtual" world: are on-line discussions valuable in making a shift to a truly sustainable world? While the internet has become, as some have suggested, a sort of "global mind" by which we can share vast amounts of information, it also perpetuates and advances the Cartesian separation of mind and body, spirit and earth, that is the root of our dysfunction. And, to the extent that on-line "social networking" supplants real connections and relationships, this rapidly growing virtual reality will undermine authentic community and the vital connection to the web of life that is the only true ground of sustainable life.
There is also the danger that the almost unlimited volume of information available on-line will substitute for the authentic knowledge and wisdom which is provided only by living on the Earth in wholesome community with intimate relationships extending well beyond the nuclear family.
A virtual world of information, of course, will also contain vast amounts of disinformation and shallow knowledge based on qualitative ignorance. An example is the Carotmob suggestion that Michelle refered to above (see my comment on that web page). Exposure to ideas and information is no substitute for the kind of wisdom that can be gleaned only by embodied life on the Earth. That is, after all, why each of us incarnated at this time.
I doubt that any of the indigenous wisdom keepers interviewed by the Global Oneness Project (please, let's not call it the GOP!) would suggest that the internet is the key to our salvation. It can be a tool among many, but only if we use it properly while recognizing its limitations and its dangers.
A more important tool is our judgement and discernment. While all beings are One, all ideas, institutions and lifestyles are not equal. Some are constructive and healthy - some are dangerous and destructive. Only when we regain the wisdom that the Earth offers will we know the difference.

Hi, this is my intro as well as a comment how how to use this material.
I love to have a small group of friends, family, acqaintances over for dinner and a short film that allows pauses for comment. I don't do it too often, being disorganized/low income/two jobs and generally limited in resources (urgh!) but each time is precious. Among other to do items is to read more re this group and resources; haven't seen any of the films/trailers yet, so pardon my ignorance. DVDs from Bioneers are great (have I ordered/bought any? no, not yet). I have been to two satellite conferences in the last 4 years. I have told so many people about Paul's presentations on "the other superpower" and his book (found/bought a copy yet? no, but I'm delighted there will be a film). It would be so much easier to just invite some of those people over to see the DVD!! I also really loved the presentation by P. Stamets, the mushroom mystic/scientist from Washington! Wanted to research possibilities in reclamation via fungi for the Indians contaminated by oil drilling in Ecuador. Anyone else welcome to beat me to it! Guess I'm a natural collector/passer on of info and love to connect others for their mutual benefit. But even more introverted folks can enjoy doing this in a home setting. I had my father and a friend for dinner and we watched a video I found in my local library. The Dalai Lama conversing with 12 well-known folks from different sectors (biz, media, politics and nonprofits). 1 hour video took three hours with pauses for conversation; a lot of fun, a chance to see some names we'd only heard of. Just three people, but satisfying. Six is a nice size too. Extrovert/organizers can do larger showings. So many people thirsty for hope and direction... Hannah, re your Q's. I think we look for connection, encouragement and resource here. I joined because I want the film resources/directories to share. I also am encouraged to hear the thinking, actions and stories from elsewhere. Online connection broadens our world view and has a convenience factor different than in person interactions (mail lists, midnight or 5 am hours, at home, not waking anyone up or interrupting important in person time with a phone call). Like everything else in life, it requires balancing with in person and immediate world/local time. See my next comment to JTHessert as example. Hi, JT. Yep, I wrote you about Writers for a Sustainable Future. Your response made me realize I could "create" it on wiserearth.org as well, but haven't done so yet. Spent some time looking for something similar to my idea; seems obvious and I'm not into unnecessary duplication. Can't find it though, so will try to get it up today. Just not sure how complicated to do. For anyone else, I think we need more specualtive fiction and film that is set in sustainable near futures. Character driven and "relaxing" "escapist" reading or viewing, but also a visioning process of what life might be like when one integrates all these pieces. Nonfiction great too. My original idea is for a local monthly event that provides info, connection between writers, and an opportunity for visioning that is more free spirited and flexible than serious community development discussions. Another clear in my mind structure/plan that I have not taken necessary, consistent action steps on yet......anyone who wants the recipe in idea form is welcome to it. Also if you want to hear when it materializes and how it works out, I'll make a list. I've asked library for space in January, hope to start smaller core group elsewhere in Sept. OK, well now I better try putting it up as a group. Alison |

I do believe we are at a turning point in history. That turning point has a spiritual nature that has manifested itself in the physical world. The physical world presents us with horrors that have been created by human actions and reactions. If we do not reflect within ourselves the oneness of the human experience, we are condemned to continue those horrors upon each other and the environment. We have the potential to heal ourselves through the universal love that all spiritual teachings propose and decent people of no religious affiliation adhere to. The turning point is now here, where those of us on this planet and its future generations step into a new era of awareness that we truly are one body.
We as humans, we as in all living beings, we as in all of creation, are united beyond the physical realm. A realm that is more common than even the same molecules that make up our physical existence. It is the realm of the spirit that we are united without separation. When each one of us experiences that essence of commonality, a touch of divinity can be felt. I dare say that even an atheist can feel it but just name it differently.
I have found the most profound experience of love; that touch of divinity in the moments that I have opened myself to the larger Self we are all connected to. And in that experience I have come to know the spirit in all things. When the “I” experiences oneness in all things with no sense of otherness and when time does not exist but in the Now. That is the moment that evokes the touch of divinity.
“We are not humans having a spiritual experience, we are spirits having a human experience.”

I live in Evanston, Illinois and because I spent most of my career as a radio news reporter, I love the idea of using the media to connect those who are working to repair our broken world.
I have created many documentaries for radio, but never videos. I love documentaries and look forward to watching all of your videos and getting involved in anyway that I can. Marym

My name is Christina Vircillo, and I work as a Creative Director in the field of Broadcast Design. Balance, Oneness and enjoying the dance of life is something I always like to keep aware of. The tool of media to connect and bring conscious awareness, plays a meanigful role in my life. As a business owner I hope I can always play my part in aiding that vision and give back where I can. Experiencing the many videos the Global Oneness Project has created is inspiring. The links, posts and discussions Global Oneness has harnessed through Wiser Earth is enriching. I met a few of you, and many others who are not members at ANH's Human Forum. The connectivity at such events as well as virtually has played a huge part in feeling and keeping awake. Thank you.
