Want to Make a Cheap, Lightweight Solar Cooker? This is an image of solar cooker "Cook Kit" Design that can be made for a few dollars out of cardboard and aluminum foil, and can be folded to fit into a backpack. Using an heat-safe oven bag (you can buy them at the grocery store for a couple of dollars, people apparently roast turkeys in them) makes it MUCH more effective. This design is one manufactured by the non profit Solar Cookers International. Combined with a few dollar, reusable water pasturization indicator (WAPI), the cook kit can be used for water pasturization, useful to have around for an emergency.
