Creation-Care Sermon Contest

Saturday, October 4th, 2008, 7:00pm
Trinity United Methodist Church, 6512 23rd Ave NW, Seattle

http://www.earthministry.org/

Please join us for a night of inspiring, creation-honoring sermons at the “St. Francis Sermon Smack-Down” (or Sermon Contest). In addition there will be earth-honoring choral music performed by the choirs of Trinity United Methodist Church choir and Plymouth United Church of Christ.

All those in attendance will decide the winning sermons in both lay and clergy categories. The lay category will be determined by paper ballot and the clergy category will be determined by a “dollar ballot”, a donation that will support the work and mission of Earth Ministry – come prepared!

Contest Finalists:
Lay
Annette Andrews-Lux, Freeland, WA
Sherry Golden, Flagstaff, AZ
Tom Walker, Clinton, WA

Clergy & Vowed Religious
Rev. Mary Brown, North Bend, WA
Sister Mimi Maloney, Olympia, WA
Rev. Gerry Porter, Kingston, WA

In keeping with the Celebration of St. Francis tradition, banners will be presented to the newest Greening Congregations Partners:

First Presbyterian Church, Port Townsend, WA
Grace Episcopal, Bainbridge Island, WA
Wesley United Methodist, Yakima, WA
Woodland Park Presbyterian, Seattle, WA

Please join us for this inspiration and celebratory evening!
Admission is free and open to all, but come prepared to vote with your dollars
