Vocational Training in Permaculture

This in-depth permaculture training is designed to empower you to become a fully qualified permaculture professional. Erda Institute has created a Bioregional Campus drawing on the wealth of knowledge and experience of a network of experienced permaculture practitioners and specialists in the Northern Rivers region of NSW. Venue is Djanbung Gardens, purpose-design permaculture training centre and 5-acre living classroom of permaculture and sustainability in practice.

 

Semester 1, 2009 (Feb 16- Jun 25)

Foundation training for Certificate III & IV & Diploma of Permaculture

includes Permaculture Design Course plus in-depth training in permaculture practices and design.

 

Cert III in Permaculture (Trade certificate level) program focus: practical implementation and maintenance of urban & rural permaculture systems, organic gardening & animals, botany, garden & orchard/food forest design, organic production, harvest and post harvest storage, appropriate technology & natural building, water systems, soil ecology and management, community program support.

 

Cert IV in Permaculture - program focus: urban and rural systems design, design & drafting skills, implementationation planning, costs, quotes, communication skills & technology, community development, bioregional and transition planning, basic management skills for project officer, community organisation and small enterprise. Cert IV students can participate in Cert III training program to develop practical skills.

 

Diploma of Permaculture: Semester 1 participate in Cert IV core program, diploma entry pre-requisite training (Diploma streams commence semester 2)

 

FLEXIBLE LEARNING OPTIONS

participate as full time student, residential intern, day-student, and 2009 introducing distance learning options (computer, internet & skype essential). Overseas participants may enrol for maximum 13-17 weeks full-time training (depending on visa type) and complete qualification by distance learning.
