BOOST is pleased to partner with Sundance TV Channel, five New Jersey community colleges, and a host of professionals in the fields of green building, sustainable community design, smart growth, and urban real estate and community development for the first year of our Green, Smart, and Sustainable Stakeholder Education and Training (GSS-SET) series of public awareness forums and capacity-building workshops.
On Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 12 noon, Professor Alvyn Haywood will facilitate a screening and community discussion for Sundance TV Channel's, Big Idea for a Small Planet, the Build Episode at Classics Used and Rare Books located at 117 South Warren Street in downtown Trenton.
In this episode, a visionary architect works with clients to build their first "green" home; a designer demonstrates his real-life tree house made of growing tree trunks; and environmentally conscious ideas are introduced to low-income neighborhoods.
Among others, The Build features Carlton Brown, Chief Operating Officer for Full Spectrum of New York LLC and developer of the proposed Trenton Town Center mixed-use, mixed-income, green complex.
Addressing some of the most important issues facing humanity, this original documentary series from Sundance Channel focuses on environmental topics with interviews with forward-thinking designers and features on green products and alternative ideas that may transform our everyday lives.
Green, Smart, and Sustainable Stakeholder Education & Training - 2008-09 (GSS-SET I) in collaboration with local, regional, and national partners. GSS-SET I will consist of a series of public awareness forums, stake-holder capacity-building workshops, and the formation at a statewide alliance for community-first and environmental economy. GSS-SET is the natural outgrowth of BOOST work in the field of urban redevelopment with an emphasis on highlighting and promoting green building, sustainable design, and smart growth policies, practices, and projects.
