Create climate action in your local area. Come celebrate climate action by gleaning apples for the hungry and for permaculture projects.

What: Apple Picking

When: Saturday, October 24, 10 AM to 4 PM

Where: Meet at Naked Lounge at 15th & Q St., downtown Sacramento, carpool from there to Garden Highway Orchard

Why: To donate apples to the Sacramento Food Bank, and practice fermentation and food preservation by making cider.

What to bring: bags for apples, dress for the weather, water, maybe lunch?

There was a lot of interest at the recent Regenerative Design trip on a cider making meetup. This requires fruit. We need volunteers to come pick apples if we want to be able to make cider. We need at least five folks to RSVP yes to make this happen.

According to Randy of Soil Born Farms, there will be others there picking as well. Ladders and equipment for picking will be on site, but if you have gloves, I'd bring 'em. As well as appropriate clothes.

If you can, please RSVP to http://www.meetup.com/Sacramento-Area-Permaculture/calendar/11675345/ and, as well, I will send out a message with contact info and travel directions on Friday.
