About [Edit]
The 22nd meeting of the European Grassland Federation EGF entitled 'Biodiversity and animal feed – future challenges for grassland production' will be held June 9-12, 2008 in Uppsala (Sweden).
The conference will cover the following aspect of grassland production:
* The grassland landscape as a base for animal production – present, past and future
* Biodiversity and productivity in grasslands – strategies and limitations
* Forage as part of the food chain
* Efficient resource utilisation for sustainable conventional and organic grassland production
* Grassland-based production in Europe – pathways for future success
A major multidisciplinary Swedish research programme ‘Management of Seminatural Pastures – Ecology and Biodiversity’ HagmarksMistra will present final reports during the meeting.
The EGF wishes to use its highly respected conference to provide a platform for scientists and consultants, and to promote European-wide contacts and an exchange of views and experience between experts working in various disciplines relevant to grasslands. A large attendance of researchers, consultants, teachers and trainers, practicing farmers and stakeholders will make the discussion most fruitful.
