About [Edit]
Crazy Horse was
a mighty warrior for the Oglala Lakota people. It was he who the United
States feared must. His powers were well known to many people and
tribes. He put the safety of his people first. He was the last warrior
to surrender and would not have if it wasn’t for his people. The
buffalo was gone, his people were hungry and cold. He brought his
people back to Ft. Robertson and live in peace with the white man. That
did not last long, they murdered him when he did not want to be in a
cage like an animal.
Ten years ago The Oglala decided to honor him and the
warrior veterans by organizing this ride. The ride starts from where
Crazy Horse was murdered at Ft. Robertson. Its destination is his home,
the Pine Ridge reservation. For four days these mostly young people
ride on their sacred horses bonding with the animals and Mother Earth.
The Crazy Horse Ride from Ft Robinson to Pine Ridge Reservation on June 4th, 2008 is a closed Lakota Veteran Memorial Ride with limited facilities so please contact Bam Brewer for details in regards to participation and support staff positions.
