About

Made possible through funds from the US Fire Learning Network and The Nature Conservancy’s Global Invasive Species Program, the first meeting of the "Florida & Caribbean Fire & Invasives Learning Network" will convene at the Kovens Conference Center at Florida International University from Feb 10th – 12th, 2009

Invited participants will examine the interactions between fire (wild and Rx) and invasive plants (especially grasses and vines), namely: the influence of invasive species on fire regimes; influence of fire on invasive species; and influence of land use and land management practices on invasive species and fire.  We intend for the information that comes out of these meetings to be directly relevant to managers of both fire-dependant and fire-sensitive habitats.
