Eco-April Alignment

The stars are aligning to form a remarkable confluence of events focusing on all livings things and their environment. Why not use this alignment to strengthen our relationships, multiply our productivity, and increase our capacity to work together? We are convening a day to explore this question:

What can we do together that none of us could do alone?

We invite those passionate about working cooperatively to join us. We’ll use a process called Open Space Technology that invites each of us to take responsibility for what we love and care about. We'll organize ourselves, creating an agenda based on the topics of interest to each of us.

In other words, the meeting is guided by what each of us believes is important to pursue, so bring your ideas and be prepared to lead and participate. For a longer description of Open Space Technology, see http://openspaceworld.org/cgi/wiki.cgi?AboutOpenSpace The day will be facilitated by Peggy Holman http://www.opencirclecompany.com/bio.htm

Coming Together On-Life and On-Line

We can only be in one place at a time. If you can't make the January 12th gathering please still include yourself in the Eco-April Alignment [1]. Add yourself to our group on WiserEarth www.wiserearth.org/group/ecoapril We will post the notes from the open space sessions and use this group as a shared online workspace.

The April 2008 events can catalyze a broad-based unprecedented collaboration for our community, e.g. the Dalai Lama requires a report back in one year, the Seeds of Compassion and the Puget Sound Community Change are working on large-scale cooperation’s over the next five years, Sustainable Cascadia is focusing on sustainability within a generation. So many of our initiatives call us to increase our capacity to cooperate at larger and larger scales. We invite you to join with us. As Ralph Waldo Emerson said:

“What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us.”

May it be so.
