"The Great Clothing Swap" is anticipated to start in Pennsylvania and grow throughout the entire country.  It is anticipated that hundred of thousands of children go to school here in the United States each year in clothing that doesn't fit or is so worn that it doesn't provide adequate protection from the elements.  As such Angels On A Mission would like to initiate and implement "The Great Clothing Swap" for children throughout the Pennsylvania area and introduce the idea to other community activists across the country.

"The Great Clothing Swap" is anticipated to take place August 16th 2008 in anticipation of the new school year's arrival.  This program will allow multiple children from many financial levels of society to come and participate in a clothing swap to provide them with much needed weather appropriate apparel for the upcoming school year. 

In essence, families will choose 10 gently used clothing items from each of their own children and come to the swap with a small monetary donation along with the clothing items at which time they will be admitted to the program and they will have the opportunity to exchange their gently used clothing for items that are more appropriate to the needs of their children whether for size, durability, or climate appropriate items.  Afterwhich all items that are remaining will be donated to the St. Vincent De Paul Society which provides care packages at no cost to families nationwide through the Catholic Diocese.

We are currently looking for a vendor who would also be willing to provide mini back packs filled with school supplies for each child too.
