About  [Edit]

Event Description:

On this exciting day of action we will celebrate and promote green-collar jobs here in Richmond, California. "SolarRichmondBUILD" program graduates who have completed our 10-week pre-apprenticeship construction and solar installation training program and are now employed with local solar companies will speak about their experience to date and their personal ups and downs as pioneers in a historically homogeneous movement and industry.

This will be an exciting opportunity for program graduates to celebrate their hard work and to push for more to be done to bring them into the emerging green economy. There will also be several workshops, an environmentally-friendly walking solar tour and hopefully a live solar installation as well on the rooftop of Atchinson Village (check back for confirmation)!

A number of organizations, including Atchison Village, Communities for a Better Environment, NorCal Solar, Rainforest Action Network, Rubicon Programs Inc, Solar Richmond, and West County Toxics Coalition are joining together to host this event and promote green-collar jobs in Richmond California.
