Summary:
The 2008 IWA World Water Congress and Exhibition in Vienna will bring together 3,000 international water industry professionals to discuss the latest developments in sustainable water management and exchange knowledge on all aspects of the water cycle. In addition to the many international themes related to water supply and wastewater disposal, the Vienna congress will welcome papers related to the Danube region. Located in the heart of Europe and with a common European cultural and economic area triggered by EU enlargement, the Danube’s characteristic features have left their imprint on the region’s landscape, people and history. These factors combine to demand a considerable degree of trans-national cooperation in the interests of sustainable water management.
