Introduction to Applied Ecological Design Series
10am-5pm, potluck lunch 1-2pm

$50-75 per session, sliding scale
Spend the day immersed in the permaculture design process as we explore site assessment, visioning, and conceptual design planning within the context of an actualsite. Each morning will explore the basics of ecological design process, principles, andpractice. Afternoons will move outside to explore these techniques through hands-on participatory activities using the Solstice Grove site as an educational aid. Each week’sfocus will vary as we address particular issues and areas of interest. Each workshop is set up so that it may be taken individually as a first introduction, or by more advancedstudents as part of a whole series.
On-site camping is available Saturday night only for those who commit to participate inSunday’s volunteer day, and an additional camping fee of $25 is required. Individualswho are camping are responsible for bringing their own food and will have access to the community kitchen.

Everyone is invited to spend the day engaged in hands-on educational activities as wedevelop our skill set for creating healthy, safe, and resilient communities. The focus this season will be on fire mitigation, erosion control, and watershed re-hydration. Bring yourfriends, family, sturdy shoes, layers of clothing and food to share! Please bring any of the following tools you may have: mallets, clippers, gloves.
