Water and Energy in the West

Finding the right balance here and across the nation

WHAT: Sustainable Path Foundation’s annual seminar series opener, “Energy and Water in the West: Priorities for a Healthy Washington,” highlights the conflicts and synergies between energy and water needs in the West. As our nation seeks to reduce its reliance on oil, we are also seeing new burdens placed on our limited water supplies. Michael Hightower, an expert in Western water and energy issues, will explore how we can both protect our precious fresh water supplies and meet our growing needs for renewable energy. In the second part of this seminar, one of Washington state’s most prominent environmental leaders will bring the issues home, as she outlines our state’s environmental legislative priorities. This is the first seminar in the Sustainable Path Foundation’s ‘Seeking Sustainable Solutions’ seminar series at Town Hall Seattle.
