Practical Seminars with Sepp Holzer 2009 and 2010
Holzer's Permaculture is ecological knowledge for the future.
It places the human being back again at its natural place in its relationship to nature.
Sepp Holzer is an Austrian mountain farmer who has developed his own
very specific type of permaculture for the healing of natural cycles.
He leads projects worldwide for the renaturization of landscapes. For
two years he has been advising and providing support to the Ecology
Team of Tamera in the design and construction of a southern European
pilot project of landscape healing.
Through life-long research and practical application, Sepp Holzer has
acquired an immense knowledge about the implications in nature and the
development of biotopes of abundance, and he now promotes a humane and
sustainable interaction with the Earth and all its creatures.
Tamera holds Sepp Holzer in high esteem both for his
unconditional solidarity for life at large and for his questioning of
established doctrines and refuting them with the visible success of his
permaculture. “Think naturally, not normally!”
„Holzer`s permaculture is large scale
landscape healing to correct the
mistakes of the past, to facilitate symbiosis
of interaction, to let nature do its work,
and to reestablish cycles.”
(Sepp Holzer)
“Nature is like a mother. If you treat her well, she will give you everything!”
Each living being knows its task and its place in the whole of
creation. There is nothing to be fought against; all things complement
and support each other as long as the human being does not interfere.
The task of the human is to merely direct, so that the whole can again
interact harmoniously and the Earth can unfold her natural abundance,
which she then gives away so generously.
Training place: Since the Fall of 2008, Tamera has
been Sepp Holzer’s international training place in southern Europe (all
seminars in German with translation into English, sometimes
additionally into Portuguese or Spanish). The original pilot model in
the middle European region is the Krameterhof in Austria (seminars in
German).
Theory and Practice: In cooperation with the Ecology
Team of Tamera, Sepp Holzer offers seminars at regular intervals. The
participants are given the opportunity to study and practice Holzer`s
Permaculture in the development of a large scale water landscape
project. Each seminar is a live process; its content depends on the
time of the year and the actual status of development of the water
landscape. A few weeks before the beginning of the seminar, the focus
of each seminar is published on this web page.
Basic content:
- Water management of the land and
the construction of water retention spaces for the revitalization and
the healing of a landscape, on the premise that water is the basis of
all life.
- The development of biotopes of abundance where all things
complement each other; the self-supply of humans with vegetables and
fruits; mixed cultivation and high beds; soil regeneration by means of
support plants and plant communities; and the symbiosis of plant and
animal interaction. “Together is better than alone!”
- “Think naturally” and “learn to read the book of nature.” Observation
of the processes in nature; recognition of interrelationships and
direction to produce natural cycles so that self-sustained systems are
able to (again) develop by themselves.
General Information:
Depending on the weather conditions, the contents of the seminars are subject to change.
Price:
850 Euro per seminar, includes accommodation in 4-bed Visitor Huts with your own sleeping bag and vegan food. You may book a room in the Guest House at an additional cost, if available.
For each seminar the first day named is always the date of arrival, the last day always the date of departure.

Take note of the dates of the coming seminars in 2009:
September 26 - October 1
December 2 - 9
September 26th to October 1st , 2009:
Forest Development & The Design
of Water Retention Spaces
Languages: german, english, russian
The content of this seminar focuses on:
-- The Crater Garden, a part of our first big water retention space, will be redesigned and
expanded. A Crater Garden is a terraced garden with water at its center whose climatic
condition make possible, for instance, the cultivation of tropical plants if it is correctly
built.
-- Useful mixed cultures for forest development and agro-forestry
-- Building of spawning and breeding places for fish (“fish nursery”)
December 03rd to December 08th, 2009:
Fruit-Growing in Holzer`s Permaculture
Languages: german, english (and upon request)
The content of this seminar focuses on:
-- -the priming of the landscape for the permaculture cultivation with fruit trees and
berry bushes
-- the development of a fruit tree nursery in terms of Holzer`s Permaculture
-- the preservation of old varieties
-- the planting of stock for later graftage
Seminars in 2010: February 1st - 6th , June 7th - 12th
September 2nd – 7th, November 24th – 29th
Registration: office@tamera.org , Tel. 00351-283 635 306

Water is life! - a Model for Renaturation of Dry Regions.
In southern Portugal, a pilot model shows how the desertification of the Mediterranean and other threatened places in the world can be stopped. It is also a model for regional food autonomy.
