What should you look for in a hydro site? How do you know if hydro will work for you, and how much power you might generate? What questions should you ask yourself and your suppliers? Learn the basics of small hydroelectric systems in this introductory workshop.

Topics covered include:
• Measuring head and flow
• Estimating output
• System design
• Equipment specification
• Installation

Participants will take a field trip to view the hydro system at the nearby home of Solar Living Institute founder and board president John Schaeffer.

Rody Jonas
Rody Jonas received a degree in Physics from UCSB and after working for an aerospace contractor for several years, Rody decided to follow a longtime dream and pursue a career in Renewable Energy Technologies. He is the founder of Healdsburg-based Pure Power Solutions, which specializes in off-grid RE solutions.
