About  [Edit]

The VII Colloquium seeks a diverse range of young activists and academics interested in peer learning and in contributing to the construction of collaboration networks among nongovernmental organizations, universities and the United Nations.

The annual International Human Rights Colloquium is a one-of-a-kind forum that brings together scores of human rights activists and academics for a week each year to learn from their peers and experts in the field, obtain a fresh perspective on their work, and lay the foundation for professional alliances down the road (networking). The Colloquium creates a multiplier effect that benefits both the participants and their organizations.

The objective of the VII International Human Rights Colloquium is to strengthen the impact of human rights activists and academics work in Latin America, Africa and Asia.

The Colloquium offers lectures, seminars and working groups. Through these exchanges, human rights professors and specialists work intensively to develop their knowledge and ideas related to the Colloquium’s permanent theme – “Strengthening Human Rights in the South”. In the morning sessions, participants will attend lectures, while in the afternoon sessions, they will take part in workshops and working groups. (See Program)
