About  [Edit]

May 14-16, 2008
Albuquerque, New Mexico

Join us this May 14-16 as ICLEI, the City of Albuquerque, and Mayor Martin Chavez, host the 2008 ICLEI Local Action Summit.  The ICLEI Local Action Summit brings together mayors and local elected officials, environmental policy leaders, and the business community who are leading climate and sustainability efforts at the local level.

This is the single best destination to learn about the latest innovations, technologies, and policies being effectively implemented at the local level. It’s where you determine how to put those climate protection and sustainability measures and policies in place, how you pay for it, and how it will benefit your community. As a participant, you will return home after the event energized and well-equipped to put solutions to work in your community.

Over the course of ICLEI’s 3-day summit, participants will hear from the most experienced experts on climate action—local governments –on the latest ideas for how to tackle these global challenges at the local level.

Together we can push the envelope to demonstrate that local action and leadership offers the greatest opportunity to effectively fight climate change and advance sustainability for our communities for generations to come.  Take Action > Register Today.
