Hay there everyone,

Here is what could be an upcoming event. Lately, I mean the last few months I have been proposing across a variety of website’s, forum’s and some group sites like Google and yahoo the need for what could become the very first planetary conference on our civilizations (or species) long term survival with a variety of tracks focusing on social and physical economic reorientation trying to pull together all those people like you who are out here on wiserearth and many other bodies Global Governance and Whole System Design thinkers along with many university scholars for example those in social anthropology and forward thinking designers in engineering and the like as many cross disciplines structures as can be possible.

This I feel can be done if motion begins this year in maybe about five years at some location malleable for such an event. Where journalist from magazines like the Utne Reader, The New Enlightenment, Scientific American, National Geographic, Anthropology, Archeology, Medical Journals and others can converge to weigh in on the first true planetary conference as the first real attempt is made to craft the ways and means ahead for a new and sustainable civilization. Here new social and physical mechanisms can be integrated across the human discipline structures exercising a full panel or team approach with demonstrations as how these team approaches can be expanded out to a planetary scale.

It is my strong believe that this act can bring a real world focus to this issue where the people and their ideologies or theories can then receive a pier review open to all comers including and especially the media projecting that a real process does now exist capable of getting a handle on a permanent basis our species maturation and development looking well into the future. I feel this effect will establish without a doubt a real world presence, credibility and accountability of those involved with this new up and coming planetary movement.

We need to start moving this thing out of the electronic medium like the Internet across the entire real world environment. If you want a prime example of what I am talking about just go down to your nearest 7/11 and ask the casher about what they think of Global Governance, Whole System Design or Planetary Development for that matter and watch their face and listen for their answer if they even have an answer to render because it is most likely that very few people would ever see the relevance it terms of the bread and butter issues it could bring to their lives. Surmounting this relevance is the key to success here and to be honest without it there really isn’t any point to the whole exercise. All of what this is to do is to enhance the human condition by raising the standard of living in all the bread and butter issues of life to all of our world’s citizenry.

Any questions or comments please do so, What do you people think is such a thing possible time line wise would it or can it in your view be able to garner support or maybe there is one on the way else where that I am not aware  of or there already has been something similar maybe that I am not aware of it I do know of the Environmental Periodicals formed in Japan in the 90’s but that is not exactly what I am talking about here which is an across the board way of dealing with the human condition sustainable on all levels looking well across time with effective planning measures means and outlays promoted in the conference and beyond…

Planetary Development

As you may have noticed I have posted the Idea of a planetary conference possibly in around five years out on the Governance activities part of wiserearth. I hope when you read the section about having to move the new type of global ideologies outside the Internet that I am suggesting that the Internet or sites like wiserearth should be abandoned in fact the opposite is true. I would hope that the Internet and sites like wiserearth would and shall be and have an integral roll to play for such a conference as described. The vision I am working on is the development of a new type of conference where it shall be a networked conference from locations around the world coming out of universities, business establishments, governmental complexes, media outlets, over an extended period of time where all the media players can weigh in on the thing as it pertains to the whole of the concepts developed or focus in on just one part within the framework of the thing like the social science or engineering side of things for example giving the full swath of pros and cons with outside positive or maybe more importantly negative feedback. This shall be something I will continue to post out on wiserearth pertaining to governance and whoever wishes to respond they may indeed feel free to do so.

Over the coming years I shall continue to work on this as a goal and a starting point for all those who would wish to come together on such an endeavor. The suggestion of a planetary conference aimed at the future of our species is a doable thing and consistent with everything I have seen out here on wiserearth.

I absolutely agree with Michael K. that a strong strategy must be applied to the thing even if takes a little while longer than expected to accomplish the thing. Now having said that I see wiserearth acting in a facilitation role of some kind like a connector in a continuum This conference I am talking about shall be run as a network coming from different locations out of the areas of specialization given university, health center, engineering, political, economic, agricultural, social in short it shall be multiphasic and multitasking starting from a given location with an overview of what is going to take place and when topic and activity wise with a laid out schedule over a period of perhaps months. It will be very low key but to the point where time shall be given to cove the vast array of topics and the many arguments presented in the pros and cons of different approaches that could be utilized the meet the challenge of the topics and tasks at hand with a somewhat loose and reasonable time line to begin processing the approaches across the worlds social platforms.

In fact given time and the right approach diverse opinions can only have the effect of adding spice and vigor to the ongoing debates all monitored by some of the must trusted and traditional journalistic forms like Scientific American, National Geographic, The Journal of the American Medical Association and other media as well acting as a continuum decimating information adding perspective from fields like Social Anthropology, Social Science, Economic Science, Earth Science and the like. All human disciplines shall be involved with multi tracks running at different days, weeks and the few months the conference is engaged. This shall be a new approach to the term conference. Yes there will be locations around where people can go and sit and join in on a particular discussion or topic put forward. Like school auditoriums, media center locations, government facilities or out in the field anywhere in the world.

The physical conference itself will resemble a network of nodal points integrated across the world and it shall be these nodal points where people gather that will most likely take the most time to set up but it will be the most advanced conference in time and depth of subject matter ever held. This is an idea I have had for some time now. Even if it takes the better part of ten years to pull it together it shall be worth it because it will cast the die for a running continuum across the world’s social platforms of discussions of our world’s great issues both large and small out in a very real world on very real terms.
