Support Local Growers and join an inspiring discussion with local farmers. 

 

Celebrate Earth Day with some of the heroines of sustainable agriculture,

These women have dedicated their lives to providing us with food that is beautiful, nourishing and delicious – grown in harmony with Mother Nature. 

 

Who: Trini Campbell, Riverdog Farm; Gretchen Ceteras, Blue Heron Farm; Annie Main, Good Humus Produce; Gena Nonini, Marian Farms; Bu Nygrens, Veritable Vegetable, and Judith Redmond, Full Belly Farm. 

 

When: Wednesday, April 22, 7-9 pm 

 

Where: 24th Street Theatre, 2791 24th Street, Sacramento 

 

Why: To get to know some of the hearts and minds of the people who put food on your plate and learn some of the answers to the questions “Where does our food come from? How was it grown? Who grew it?” and to raise funds for The Soil Born Farms Urban Agriculture & Education Project and the Good Humus Land Preservation Project. 

 

Cost: Tickets are available at the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op, 916 455 2667, or at the store at 1900 Alhambra Blvd. $15, $10 Co-op owners, $5 children under 12 

 

Extras: An organic supper from Eileen’s Kitchen ($10) and Amador Foothill Wine Tasting (by donation) will be available from 5:30-6:30 pm.
