A noontime forum, held at SPUR, 312 Sutter St. (at Grant), Fifth Floor, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. We are located close to the Powell St. BART station and several Muni lines.
Feel free to bring a lunch. SPUR Forums are open to the public, free for members and $5 for non-members.

Green collar jobs are being discussed by everyone from Presidential candidates to local workforce officials. A national organization, the Apollo Alliance, has written a key paper on this issue. Join Kate Gordon, Co-Director of Apollo Alliance as she explains what green collar jobs are and what local communities can do to expand these jobs.

This Thursday, July 24, 2008, Van Jones will appear at a Commonwealth Club Event, Green For All:  Van Jones and Senator Steinberg in Conversation with Scott Shafer.

This program will present innovative ideas about how the environmental movement, specifically the creation of green jobs, can remedy environmental and economic injustices in our communities.
