About [Edit]
Our next meeting, on August 11th, will be more like a roundtable
community discussion. Some members will speak on the seed saving and
bartering group. The main theme is on organizing ourselves to get some
gardens started. Who has the land? Who wants the space? Who has what
resources? What kind of timeline are we looking at for getting a
garden started? Etc. It will be more informal and low key than the
last meeting, but hopefully very productive for getting moving on
building some new gardens. We will also be having a seed exchange and
potluck. Potluck starts at 6pm, meeting starts at 6:30pm and it is at
the Santa Monica Main Library Multi-purpose room on the second floor.
Show up at 6pm to talk story and share in a local potluck, August is a great time to enjoy the garden's bountiful harvest.
This time, we will also be having a seed swap. Please bring any surplus seed with a detailed label describing variety, date of seed, and where it is from. The seed swap will also be a great way to share our gardens bounty and get a head start on fall planting. I will bring used 6 pack containers so everyone can go home and get some seeds started. Maybe in September we can have a plant swap.
Look forward to seeing you all there. If there are any agenda items that people would like to share, please let me know and I will bring them up at the meeting. Like always, this event is free, but please walk, bike or carpool to the library.
