About [Edit]
The Global Climate Change Community Summits are a cooperative effort to bring together people within their local communities to address climate change and its effects through dialogues and actions that include environmental, economic, and social initiatives. In celebration of 2008, the UN International Year of Planet Earth, events will be held on October 11 in 22 cities across the USA as well as in 11 other countries.
The Earth Charter provides the framework that connects the dots and unites our actions.
The Summits will be connected via web technology, allowing
participants to connect on the day of the Summit for a round robin to
share their excitement and plans to address climate change. Earth
Charter U.S. is underwriting the cost of the web connection for the
round robin on Summit day and for monthly web interactions among and
within regions for the following year. The monthly interactions will
allow communities to continue to share their ideas, experiences and
good practices.
