About  [Edit]

BE THE CHANGE

What's Going on in the World & What Can We Do about It?

Be the Change is a highly informative, interactive workshop which explores the defining issues of our times-environmental sustainability, social and economic justice and human wellness—not as separate issues but as emerging from a common cause. The symposium puts our challenging times into perspective so we can see authentic hope emerging from our current crisis.

Lecture, group interactions and outstanding media highlighting national and world leaders—such as Archbishop Desmond Tutu, former Labor Secretary Robert Reich and environmental activist Julia Butterfly Hill—brings participants on a journey from global crisis to opportunity structured around four questions: Where are We? How did we Get Here? What are Some Possibilities for the Future? Where do We go From Here?

Participants will become aware of the new paradigm about the interconnectedness of all life emerging from recent science about the origins or the universe and all life. We’ll also learn about the hopeful, global movement for change which is not highlighted in the media, and have an opportunity to 'be the change' in action planning with others to co-create the world we want.

This presentation is better known as Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream, developed by the Pachamama Alliance. It is brought to the Pacific Northwest by a partnership between Pachamama and The Heritage Institute.

Heritage Institute Director Mike Seymour will present, assisted by others.

Sponsored by The Heritage Institute, Youth for a New World and The Pachamama Alliance.
