About  [Edit]

In an effort spearheaded by the Ocean Conservancy, the International Coastal Cleanup, happening this September 19, is run by volunteers around the world.

Sign up for this year's International Coastal Cleanup in September at a waterway near you — and then ask your friends to join you! Last year, nearly 400,000 volunteers collected more than 6.8 million pounds of trash in 100 countries and 42 US states during the 2008 International Coastal Cleanup — the world's largest volunteer effort of its kind.
