About  [Edit]

Van Jones, Founder and President, Ella Baker Center for Human Rights and President of Green For All, is a national leader working to combine solutions to America's two biggest problems: social inequality and environmental destruction.

In the summer of 2007, Jones launched a new initiative called Green For All, a national campaign for green-collar jobs and opportunities. "The chief moral obligation of the 21st Century is to build a green economy that is strong enough to lift people out of poverty. Those communities that were locked out of the last century's pollution-based economy must be locked into the new, clean and renewable economy. Our youth need green-collar jobs, not jails." - Van Jones

The event is FREE and open to the public. A moderated Q & A will follow the lecture. Presented by Climate Solutions with support from El Centro de la Raza, SAGE, Earth Ministry, Seattle Climate Action Now and King County.

Wednesday, November 7, 2007, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center 104 17th Avenue South (17th and Yesler). For more info visit www.climatesolutions.org.
