About
The United Nations mandated University for Peace, headquartered in Costa Rica, is offering a professional development short course titled, 'Nonprofit Leadership: Maximizing Impact'. This case study-based seminar will focus on the specific challenges of nonprofit management in a changing world, innovative fundraising approaches, and developing skills for effective nonprofit leadership.
The seminar will cover the following 5 topic areas:
• Clarifying strategy and structure
• Measuring impact and evaluating success
• Leveraging the private sector
• Engaging in revenue-generating activities
• Skills for effective nonprofit leaders
(cross-cultural communication, negotiation, leadership styles and conflict resolution)
The seminar is designed to be practical and hands-on, allowing space for sharing and peer-to-peer learning. In addition to selected field trips, the course will travel to the scenic cloudforest region of Nacientes Palmichal for an overnight stay at the end of the week.
