Helene York is director of the Bon Appétit Management Company Foundation, an educational organization whose mission is to educate consumers, chefs, and food service managers about how their food choices affect the environment. In April 2007, Bon Appétit launched the Low Carbon Diet®, the first national program to highlight the significant connection between the food system and climate change and implement operational changes to reduce emissions in food service. The program has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, Newsweek, Boston Globe, National Public Radio, CNN and ABC News.
