About  [Edit]

Continued overfishing, pollution, and climate change pose real threats to the wellbeing of California’s ocean waters. Across the state, communities and organizations are working to defend this vital resource and restore it to health.

During this panel discussion, moderated by Earth Island Institute (EII) Executive Director / International Marine Mammal Project Director, Dave Phillips, legendary California environmentalist Warner Chabot CEO of the CA League of Conservation Voters, surfing attorney Mark Massara Director of the Sierra Club's California Coastal Campaign, the NRDC’s Ocean's Policy Analyst Leila Monroe, and Ocean Conservancy's manager, Pacific Ecosystems Samantha Murray will outline the most important ways of protecting our coasts and ocean.
