Conference Theme: All individuals interested in the study of the commons are invited to submit abstracts for presentation of papers or posters on any aspect of conference themes, for symposia, or workshop discussion sessions focused on specific issues. Papers may address theory, policy, practical work, empirical research, or describe cases studies.
Conference Sub themes
1. Understanding the benefits of commons
2. Property rights: recognition, protection and creation
3. Community and governance: exploring new approaches
4. Analyzing the multi-functional nature of complex commons
5. Evolution and enclosure of commons
6. Social movements, networks and collective action
Conference Outputs
All abstracts and submitted papers will be made available through the digital Library of the Commons. Conference paper submissions will be peer reviewed and a selection of papers will be published in an edited volume.
Workshops, Symposia, Round-table Discussions
Submit an abstract to organize a workshop (a practically-oriented and focused session), a symposia (several speakers focusing on a particular issue or theme), or a round-table discussion with a facilitator to stimulate audience participation on a particular topic. Abstracts should be a maximum of 500 words and include names and affiliations of the organizer and individual presenters (if applicable). Abstracts for workshops, symposia, and round-table discussions are due 30 September, 2007.
