About  [Edit]

Dear Friends,

Greetings!

1. GenCon:  Genders Confluence  Oct. 2009 Himalayas of 15 days in India is

almost final. It will be a confluence of creative juices of truthful women and

men

who are daring to explore the foundations of social design and change it

creatively

in theory and in their own lives. Himalayas signify the eternal rock solid

unshakable resolve of their character.

We are in the final stage of fixing exact dates and venue.

Planned activities involve trekking, theater, puppet

workshop and play, art, group sessions, yoga,

meditation (individual as well as group), inner

opening, gender neutral language design, 40 years

plan (aka 40yp) at http://sparksoflove.com/40yp/

www.utkarshsansthanindia.com new version 1.2.2

also attached with this mail for printing, spiritual

sharing, Anthropology, horizontal community design, plan for future action, story

telling, poetry, slogan making Organic farming, Solar cooking, Music, Profound

"social" developments in computer science & technology that have seminal import

for our community, various pressing gender issues including gender as a social

construct etc.

There will be sessions for "intimate sharing, healing and release" among genders!

Members are likely to get shock of their lives as shells of years of conditioning will

explode, exposing truth in its pristine glory!!!

Participation in sessions will be optional/voluntary. 100% choice always!

Please coordinate with me on this email. Funds are no problem. We are self

sufficient. Just write in your proposal and what you are willing to contribute to the

community spirit!

Already the venue for New year workshop is fixed at Hyderabad thanks to initiative taken by Abhay

Bhawana <ap.rishon@gmail.com>.

Now I discuss a current specific problem in life of one of our friend. This illustrates

more general problem also.

2. Problem of Trust:

I am really sad to see the line "Never trust any one in life" in one of a friend's

profile on Internet.

Actually what has been written is 100% truth and the only practical wisdom

acquired through direct personal experience. But if there is no trust then there is

no life. Every thing instantly stops. No interactions, no friends, no society, no

transactions, nothing at all!

3. Yet the present social design forces every one to place 100% faith in other

people. Now since the people can never be programmed to behave in some

imagined ideal manner, this whole design creates problem for the socially

conditioned people who are connected and trust others to behave in rigid well

defined manner.

Even the most so called "sacred" or ""strongest" relation of mother can not be

trusted 100% as we have just experienced in a friend's life.

All other relations are weaker and any thing can be expected.

Such breaking of trust puts unbearable pressure on the persons that some even

commit suicide! This is a great problem. Social design is not in sync with individual

psychology.

That is why there is the crucial need to design

family and thereby the society in another manner.

So that at least innocent people do not ever victims

of actions of others and then suffer so much that

they are forced even end their lives. And those who

continue to live are even more miserable.

Fortunately we have all undergone these kinds of

pains in various degrees in our lives. The problem is not with us or the people

whom we trusted. The problem is in the "trust based design".

Fault lies not in us, nor the stars! Fault lies in the social design.

Fortunately there is a natural solution!

3. In our community we are designing interactions among women and men in such

a manner that there is no need to have trust on particular individual(s). This leaves

every one free to do what ever one wishes in a manner such that this freedom is

equally guaranteed for every one. This takes away the whole burden of trust,

broken heart, tears etc.

4. In the community the trust is on the system rather than on any person(s). This

sounds similar to market, where one places trust on the money system rather than

on the individuals. But there is a great difference here. In government controlled

(manipulated!) systems people are made against each other in a tug-of-war

situation. Buyer's gain is exactly equal to seller's loss and vice-versa. It is a

competition or rather predatory model. Where as out community design is based on

harmony. Here one person's sadness (or happiness) translates and magnifies into

the same thing for community. This eliminates cut-throat individual ego based

competition among members.

More later. Keep writing.

Love.

1. Emotions are sparks of love that make life!

2. Welcome to all our friends to Himalayas, we have a good and very capable team to arrange a wonderful experience of all types here. Let me know the details and/or let them contact me.

3. Once you read http://sparksoflove.t35.com/40yp/ you will realize how close we are to your concept of tribal university concept.
We must work for a Himalayan offshoot of the koyawes university if you may like to view it that way. I have  feeling that our concepts are dangerously similar or even same!

4. In light of above point the visiting friends are welcome to Himalayas along with you as per your convenience entirely. We shall do the film work during that itself. Basically the film shall be the video recording of our lively group discussions, presentations etc. We will also include some skits, theater part. Keep at least 5 (film making) + 2 (travel & fro) days. If you can pull in more days it will be better. So keep it flexible. And it will not only be film per se, there will be many other activities as well. Your camera will get full diet for documentaries!

5. Time part is entirely flexible as per you. I suggest once you go through the documents, you will be clearer about the time part.

6. Once you have done some basic interaction and have clarity over the 40yp/thf etc then you will be able to spread the ideas on your IIT Kanpur visit and other campuses as well. We are also planning to hold workshops in Delhi.

7. In November middle, our great friend Anshuman from US is also coming to Dehradun. Let us make Himalayas a convenient focal point for meeting.

8. As far as your new work is concerned regarding documentaries please get in touch with Deep Basu deepconnect@rediffmail.com&els=39ae6e6fa2d45983571d0ec8e24e1900">deepconnect@rediffmail.com. He is in Delhi.

1. Treeman jungle's oxygen has already reached you in Washington!
To meet Treeman is even greater! Lets hope you make it one day.

2. Student you met is now pursuing Law at Pune, India. These are fresh new kids.

3. "Genders Confluence 2009" Community issue is progressing firmly. Yesterday we found solution to completely embrace HIV positive people into community! Its a wonderful feat. This opens flood gate.

4. Was wondering if our actors wear masks of different tribes/ethnicities with the captions of respective languages so that our film can then be easily internationalized into different editions. Also, that way we can show really bold scenes and make bold statements without risking being unnecessarily targeted  by the blood sucking vertical agencies. Our aim is to basically spread our message rather than make specific actors/group/individuals popular. Identity is a non-issue or rather a problem in horizontal community. Where as vertical works on identification.

Mask use is just an idea. Discussion is going on.

Are you someone who is looking to do something meaningful with your life? Are you

someone who believes that the world should be a better place? Are you someone

who wants to make a difference? There are many of us who would answer all of

those questions with an emphatic ‘YES!’ – yet the choices and opportunities put

before us by our society, education and culture often seem to be very inadequate in

helping us translate our intentions into meaningful practice. We are all faced with

numerous questions and issues in all facets of our own lives, as well as that of

society at large, to which there seem to be no answers in sight:

· Are exploitation, poverty, injustice, discrimination and war an inevitable part of

human society or is it possible to have a just and equitable society?

· Are development and ecological sustainability always going to be at loggerheads

with one another, or is possible to utilise technology for the benefit of humanity,

without disturbing the ecological balance of our planet?

· Is the education of children just about rote, memorisation and eventually getting

better jobs, or is it possible to have an educational alternative that not only helps

children become thinking individuals but also better human beings?

· Are human lives bound to be an endless struggle just to meet one’s material needs,

or is it possible to meet one’s economic requirements as well as lead intellectually

and emotionally fulfilling lives?

· Are relationships between human beings bound to be full of conflict, differences,

inequality, emotional distress and unhappy compromises, or is it possible to have

extremely happy, contented, meaningful interpersonal relationships?

· Is unhappiness, meaninglessness and discontent an inherent part of human

existence or is it possible for all human beings to live purposeful, meaningful lives?

The long history of mankind has seen numerous attempts to answer the above

questions. While many religious and philosophical schools of thought have put forth

‘solutions’ to some of the above problems, their answers have often been mystical

and unable to change the inequitable and exploitative structures of society.

Moreover, these very ideas have been used as a means to justify religious and

communal violence for many centuries. Postindustrial society has seen an

intensification of the above problems and questions. Consequently, numerous

ideologies, socio-political movements and social experiments have sought solutions

in the form of equality of opportunities, freedom from injustice and exploitation, the

creation of classless societies, equal access to natural resources, as well as

protection of the environment. Undoubtedly, these attempts have had some impact

on the society we live in. However, apart from having their own share of supporters

and detractors, no ideology, movement or experiment has been able to show any

definitive outcomes. As a consequence, many of us have come to believe that no

conclusive outcomes, results or solutions are even possible. We often work with the

assumption that a meaningful life and a truly just, equitable society are utopian ideals

that can only be dreamt about or aspired towards, but never actually realised or

concretised.

Yet the need for answers/solutions remains. In fact, it is far greater than ever before.

We are faced with a rapidly globalising world, with increasing inequalities,

intensifying ecological imbalance, heightening war and violence and sharpened

fundamentalist identities. Moreover, a materialist-consumerist culture and way of life

is spreading in all parts of the world. The irony of this socio-economic structure/way

of life/culture is that while it creates large numbers of ‘have-nots’, the people who are

at the bottom of the pyramid and are struggling for survival; the very ‘haves’ who are

at the top (and higher end) of the social pyramid are struggling with the

meaninglessness and hollowness of their lives. Our current way of life seems

inhuman and unsustainable from all perspectives.

So the question still remains – is there any alternative to the existing social,

economic, cultural order? Is there any philosophy/set of ideas/worldview that

creates the possibilities of a meaningful way of life, and a humane, just and

sustainable society? Is it possible for all human beings to have all facets of their

lives harmoniously interconnected – be it the personal, inter-personal, social or

ecological? What we want to do now is to go beyond a general hopeful vision and a

few promising small-scale experiments to a deeper, clearer, and more specific

understanding of how such a way of life, and society could actually be developed.

Any such ‘understanding’ would have to be universal; that is, it should satisfy the

needs and requirements of all human beings. Any such philosophy that seeks to

provide answers has to be one that can be examined and analysed by each

individual, that is, it has to be free from any sectarianism, mysticism or spiritual

leaders.
