Hidden Add Connections button may confuse user

Depending on window size, scrolling, search results, font size and/or other factors

x records selected [Add Connection]

may not be visible and confuse user. Alas, in my first attempts to add networking links, I thought the whole networking thing was broken because I saw no way of adding the selected record.

Suggestion: get rid of whatever's causing the whitespace so that this appears on the same or next line as "Add it" and would be less-easily missed.

Record modification info not updated after changes saved

Immediately after record update, original info still shown:

Have to refresh to see correct info:

Search pages: no [Clear]/[Clear All] button for new search

A *thoughtfully-placed* button to clear fields would probably be handy

Suggestion: more meaningful "Email This Page" subject than "check this out"

"Email This Page" mailto: URL has what I consider spam-like text:

check this out on WiserEarth

suggestion:

WiserEarth organization: Center for Resource Conservation CRC

Goofy list characters - Euros instead of list bullets

A data-entry problem? Template issue? Other?

Would like organisation name in mailto URL

instead of meaningless, context-less email:

BLFROG@AOL.COM

would prefer meaningful email with group name:

Biodiversity Legal Foundation <blfrog@aol.com>

(and lowercase preferred)

Server timer seems to be off by ~20 min.

Tue May 29 19:39:15

but local time is

$ date
Tue May 29 20:58:49 MDT 2007

DST bug (off-by-an-hour) aside, server should be getting network time from server so it's *always* on the right time.

Can enter email with space

http://www.wiserearth.org/organization/view/1b65fc2be778b6beb9d2b34669ec8b1a/

had bogus space in domain name:

crc [at] conservation center.org

Search results page: missing U.S. state

Example URL:
http://www.wiserearth.org/organization/search/?q=environment+louisville&x=10&y=15
http://www.wiserearth.org/organization/search/?q=louisville&x=0&y=0

Various results show:

Based in:Louisville, United States

but there's no state, so user can't tell if it's Kentucky, Colorado, Georgia or some other Louisville. (:-(

hi jonramer - the alert for the email is quickly being improved including the suggestion you made. thanks for keeping up with the process.

I suggest we consider "word wrapping" messages that are created in Wiser and sent as email. They arrive with the text scrolling over to the right.
Sm_avatar
I suggest you commend yourselves for adding the "contributors to this page". It is very cool and makes it clearer to all of us who is engaged in what. Thank you!

Hi Doug, thanks for pointing out the duplicate organization. At the moment, editors have the ability to mark a page as a "duplicate", but we are not yet deleting them from the database until this function becomes more developed. I've set the older page as a duplicate.

Doug, regarding the time zone errors, that is a bug and I will move it to the bug report page. Ticket #613 has been created, and you can view the general tech report here:

Hi, Doug - I'm gonna try to address as many of your suggestion as possible on a one-by-one basis. Regarding your comment about selecting multiple activities for personal profile, I've updated the page to list the use of the Command key for Macs.

Hey, kseverance - I agree with your point about the Donate Now button located on the bottom of each organization's profile page. Since not every organization has a donation link set up, we may not be able to do so, but I do agree that it is confusing and frustrating to be redirected to a different donation page that has little to do with the original organization. I will move this over to the suggestion box and bring this up for discussion among the WiserEarth team.
