Page Status Descriptions

This article is locked
WiserEarth provides Editors and Administrators the ability to change the status of pages, profiles, and posts.  The reasons for the status changes vary depending on the situation.  A common change for organizations is In Discussion because they are in conflict with WiserEarth Content Standards. Another common status is Locked, this would restrict editing access to editors and administration.

Select a status to read more about each of the different statuses below.

Active | Locked | Duplicate | Out of Scope | Spam | in Discussion | Removed

Active
The page is currently available to be edited and viewed by all.  This is the default setting for all the pages and profiles.

Locked
These pages are viewable by all WiserEarth users and people browsing the internet without being signed into WiserEarth.  Only Editors and Adminstrators have access to change the text.  Editors on WiserEarth.org include WiserEarth staff and interns but also can include any WiserEarth user. If you'd like to be an editor contact Peggy Duvette.

The pages are protected so that the WiserEarth community can be guided in using and understanding the site. If you have any questions or comments about the content on a locked page, please send a message to any WiserEarth editor or contact Mike.

Duplicate
The content of a page set to Duplicate is not viewable except by editors and administrators.  This setting acknowledges that there is another page or profile on WE respresenting the same information.

Out of Scope
Refers directly to the WiserEarth Content Standards.  The page or profile, most likely an organization profile, does not follow the standards set by the community.

Spam
Intrusive unsolicited information often from an outside commercial group.

In Discussion
This is also related to the WiserEarth Content Standards in that an organization or other WE page is marginally aligned.  The In discussion designation promotes the community participation in defining the kind of information that is supported on WiserEarth.  You should see a link to the discussion forum topic if an organization is set to this status.

Removed
No pages or profiles that are created on WiserEarth are ever actually deleted from the server.  This is to provide complete transparency to the actions taken by the users on the site.

Hi there

I am not an editor but I wanted to call attention to a page that i came across, which I believe is violating the terms of engagement. it appears to be a pay per click porthole disguised as a hunger site where users supposedly would be contributing by clicking a link, which,in fact is an advertising pay per click porthole.

This is the page in question:

Could you take a look?

thanks
