OSN Logo Competition

Edit this Page

Are you a student interested in attending the 2010 Annual Meeting of the Open Science Network (OSN) and Society for Economic Botany (SEB) meetings in Xalapa, Mexico?

If you are, the OSN needs your help!  We are hosting a competition among interested students in the creation of a logo to be used by the Network in future promotional materials, websites, and activities.

If you are an interested student, please read the following guidelines for this particular competition:

  1. This competition is for undergraduate or graduate level students only.
  2. There are no specific artistic guidelines; however, we encourage you to review the mission of the Open Science Network to gain a better idea of what the Network is really about to guide  you in the creation of the logo (http://www.wiserearth.org/group/opensci_ethnobiology ).
  3. The logo needs to be 300 DPI, 10 in x 10 in design so it can be used on various sized materials.  The logo can be digitally produced or hand drawn (scanned to a digital image).
  4. The chosen artist will give permission for OSN to use this logo in all promotional materials.
  5. Please submit your logo and completed application to Keri McNew (kmcnew@brit.org) by December 15, 2010. All applicants will receive notification by January 15, 2010. The application is found within the Files & Photo tab above.

What do you win you may ask?

The chosen artist will receive a travel assistance award to Xalapa, Mexico to become a participant in the 2nd Annual Open Science Network Meetings as well as full funding to cover their conference registration fee to attend the SEB meetings directly after the OSN meetings.

For Further information about this competition, please feel free to contact Keri McNew (kmcnew@brit.org) or Pat Harrison (pharrison@brit.org).

Good Luck!
