Parts of suggestion implemented: Added manage link to Related groups, which should cover all requests in this suggestion.
Problem:
Users can readily add existing groups to any group's "Related Groups" module, but there's no way to remove the connection once it's made.
Solution:
Add the "manage" link to the "Related Groups" box. When the link gets clicked, will take admins to the "Manage Content >> Groups" sub-tab, which is non-existent at the moment. Pretty sure this is already in the roadmap, just to make sure.
Further Discussion:
Should the ability to add related groups be reserved for group admins? I see some group members already adding groups that sometimes don't have direct relationship with groups I help administer. Or perhaps, add a middle step of admin approval?

Hey Bowo,
We used to have 4 types of group members - administrators, editors, members, and guests. Editors used to be this middle ground approval step, where they could help out with administrative tasks like managing related groups and other content. But we noticed that most groups either used administrators or members, so we decided to simplify the roles into just 2 types - administrators and members. Members now have the abilities of editors, which is why they're able to edit and manage content like related groups.
While it is a negative that we took out a feature that was more advanced, I think making it less complex has been better for the site. In any case, I guess my answer to your question above is that we won't be reserving that right to just group admins, since that would have us either go back to the previous forms of membership or downgrade members back to the way they were.

Definitely need the manage option for related groups. Don't think the ability to add related groups should be reserved for group admins or need approval (too controlling)- you can always unrelated now if you want - which is an easy step.

Thanks Bowo for picking this up - I think this one may already be ticketed in a forthcoming release. I will look into this.

@Angus
Yup, it'd be "too controling" indeed.
@Honore
Got that. Thanks for the explanation. Didn't realize the connection between group members' ability to "manage" and the decision to forego the group editor role.
