Group-wide adv. search after *see all* +3
There isn't a group-wide advanced search available when someone is browsing a group's orgs/resources/etc (by clicking "see all".
If a a group-wide adv. search is available, anyone could stay on the "see all" page directly without having to return to the group home page if all they wanted was to search for organizations.
It would be very cool to just spread a link that has a group's network of organizations, which also has an adv. search available. That way, people can immediately access a page that would serve as a customized directory of information whether its organizations, resources, events, etc.
I find myself expecting one, and wanting one. Anyone else?
In the future, it would be even more convenient and accessible to have a group-wide advanced search for a group's ENTIRE collection of information (orgs, events, resources, etc.) from ONE page. This is much like how the main search bar currently works.

Seems redundant that we already have a group-wide search, but will prove necessary when the admin of a group decide to exclude the search bar from the "Home" page. My +1.

Hey Mike - there actually is one and has been in place for awhile. It's a module the group admins can add to their groups if they wanted to, through the Customize Layout -> Add Content sidebar. If you don't see it in your group, ask the admin to add it in.
However, if you're talking about a search bar when you're browsing through the See All view, that's a different issue, and something we can probably ticket up and implement. |

Yup. What Id like is a search option AFTER someone clicks "see all" within a groups organizations, resources, etc. While there is a search bar that appears, its a search option for the entire site not for the group. Also, if someone wanted to enter a group-wide search after clicking "see all" they would have to return to the main page and then enter a search.
To make the case for this feature further...Take the example of the Culture of Peace Initiative's organizations
There are 510 of them. But you can't narrow them down through an "advanced search" (thats a good way to put it bowo). You can't search the organizations by country or area of focus or other search criteria. You can always type in a country in the current search-bar and get listings..but its not exact. Plus, people may not understand that they can search by country without a field that explicitly says "Country".
This feature would be helpful for many other groups on WiserEarth that have a lot of data within it. For example, World Wide Water Commons, Free Burma, Coming Together to protect the Educational Commons
In sum, currenty the the group-wide search that can be added on a group doesn't provide the following
1. An advanced search
2. A group-wide search on the same page as the "see all".
