Introduction

A best practice is the most effective methodology for delivering an outcome.  The ability of civil society to deliver solutions effectively is essential to maximizing its limited resources.   WiserEarth will combine the knowledge of the user community with a wiki-based platform to collaboratively build best practice manuals for social justice and environmental problems.

This document establishes the standards of WiserPractice Manuals.  Standards ensure a consistent presentation of material and improve the quality of the content.  While wiki-based participation will probably always be subject to critisims regarding completeness and integrity, those critisims can be minimize with consisnt application of standards.

A table of contents catalogs the sections and sub-sections of the manual in the order of their apperance.   For lengthy documents, a table of contents provides on overview of material covered and simplifies retrieval.
