OPENING CIRCLE
What barriers have you felt to faith-based advocacy?
“Activism” doesn’t work as well as “spiritual activism”
Difficulty reaching beyond xxxxx but faith and evangelism
For something to succeed it needs a spiritual foundation
People of faith have so much power, but we don’t realize it
2ND ROUND
What is faith-based advocacy?
Speaking from my values, for justice, for those who can’t speak (people and nature)
Speaking from multiple faiths perspectives is more powerful
Churches are in it for the long run (not short-term thinking)
Moving the conversation beyond self-interest to a higher purpose
Speak as individuals, for our personal commitment
Lead people to experience alive and feel connection to nature
Separation of church and state does not mean you can’t speak as a person of faith
