Ability to Forward WEmail to WiserEarthlings +1
Problem: Can't forward WEmail to anyone (only reply or delete)
Solution: Provide forward option that opens dialog box to select WE users. Could be nice to be able to add external email addresses as well.

In a perfect world, with an army of developers, we'd probably shore up our inbox along these lines. :) I'm more in agreement that this hasn't been a feature request that's popped up, or one that I've come across feeling the need for. We do have inbox redesign on the roadmap, but it's quite far down the road given the other more pressing priorities. When we get to it, I will look into adding forwarding and other more mail-like features to it.

@Bowo: I agree - not a priority perhaps, a nice to have when an overall enhancement of the WEmail functionality is considered.

Hmm... personally haven't had the need for this, but seems nice to have. The biggest advantage would of course be convenience. Quite sure that we'd want to make things easier for users to accomplish tasks in WE.
Instead of opening several user profiles to check for email addresses (if it's shown) and then opening up one's email client / web-email and then copy-paste the addresses and the message to forward (or sending WEmail one by one), it'd be nice if all can be done with a few clicks within WEmail.
The code for this solution should I imagine be similar to the group messaging feature, where one selects from a list of friends (this case, group members) to forward to.
The logical feature upgrade would then be to mimic email's ability to do "reply to all". So receivers of the forwarded message can "reply to all" and have multi-user conversation carried on within WEmail.
One way or the other, I sense the need to either upgrade WEmail to mimic some features of conventional email, or integrate it more tightly with users' email (e.g. ability to reply from email, which I imagine might be crucial to get listserves users on YahooGroups to consider migration to WE groups).
Necessity and priority are of course different yet connected. I think this feature will be necessary, but should it be prioritized for implementation? That's something that needs different consideration.
Another example would be WE's excellent "data networking" feature which is quite under utilized at the moment. It is one of WE's core differentiator to other platforms, and one I believe built on the premise of "if you build it, they will come". Perhaps WEmail forwarding falls in this category too?
Too much? |

I personally haven't had to use this much - and when I do, I simply copy and paste the message into a new one.
It would be interesting to know how many other people would use this feature. At the moment, you can email people if they allow their email to be shown in their personal profile (but this is separate to the WEmail messaging inbox). |

Good idea. To prevent abuse/spamming, perhaps forwarding should be limited to people in one's network, i.e. only to friends?
