GISEEM combines geo-informatics to capture and help in the translation a X-platform of knowledge and information as narrated and told by the local communities about their lives, livelihoods and factors that have played a role in forming and moulding their relationship with nature and the general environment.

From the 10th through to the 14th -July, the three communities of Giitune, Karima and Mukongodo will be trained on the use of GPS units to map out their resources. This will be the first of a series of trainings. The training is being conducted by ERMIS Africa and coordinated by Porini Welfare Association. The other partners to this project include BEA International, African Biodiversity Network and SHALIN Suomi (Finland).
