Some Points for Discussion Item on Proposal for 2020 Climate Leadership Campaign (CLC)

I. My thoughts about what proposal should cover.

1) A Commons Vision in specific terms related to the climate change challenge
2) The vehicles for inducing climate change - Air Trusts, Carbon Currency, Social Charters, etc.
3) An implementation plan for the vehicle.

    a) Action to change public policy

    b) Putting forces into motion from the local Commons level

    c) Education

II. Is James' Forthcoming KJ article a basis in itself for a vision for the CLC?

III. Potential CLC Partners in vision:

Safe Climate Australia
Aubrey Meyer  (Contraction & Convergence)

Peter Barnes
Hazel Henderson (Ethical Markets Media)

ADD TO AGENDA: (1:20:43) Jay: Personal objectives should also play a role in keep in touch with other people's directions.  Perhaps we should enlarge those objectives to include our interest and where our hearts are to improve our abilities see each other's perspectives.

RELATED TO ABOVE ITEM:(1:25:12) MB: Yes, Jay, it would be good to clarify our objectives so as to express just what our research is and how it relates to the research of others in our group. That will help us share information with each other more effectively.   The objectives should be seen as a works in process, redefined as needed, short-term, if needed.  Being visual is good, too; I like the idea of being able to tell from looking at our site what people are working on.

I'm involved with the development of the .nyc TLD (like .com or .org but just for New York City) and withing that TLD there's a group of 305 neighborhood names, e.g., Astoria.nyc, GreenwichVillage.nyc, that need to be developed into local communication hubs. How are they governed? Are they a commons?

Your thoughts will be appreciated.

Tom
