Completed-suggestion: Increase to 15-20 Number of Visible Lines in Comment Box +4

Edit this Page
Hey, all:

When writing in the 6-line deep "Comment" box, it is often necessary to scroll up or down after only a few sentences.   If you cut and paste, the box does not allow you to go beyond the  limits of what is already visible.   A box that is 15-20 lines deep would allow much easier writing and editing.  This also seems to be a very easy change to implement.

Hey, all:

Hey, Honore: I agree having more lines in unused Comment boxes would "fatten" a page, but to a limited constant amount, and the longer the page is otherwise, the less the increase is. I notice that in many cases, not all the 6 lines as currently set up are used in a given message, so having 15-20 is not necessary. And when the author clicks "Post..." empty lines are lost--a good feature. But when people do use more than that many lines, which often does happen, it would be very handy to have it available. The result in either case are messages with no extra lines.

I wonder if it is possible to program a mechanism to minimize the number of lines, as it is now, and have 15-20 lines to start with. Is that a reasonable possibility? I appreciate the help!

This definitely isn't a hard technical fix, just changes the look of a page if the comment box is stretched out longer. I know on Safari 3, it has this neat feature where you can custom drag and expand any text box on a webpage. All the same, I'll ticket in a fix to increase the number of lines.

I find that I would rather not have comments left on my home page! The ones that have been left were meaningless, and I think that people should have a choice to either allow comments at the bottom of their page, or, request that people send them an email or message!!!
