Distinction Between WiserEarth Organizations and Groups
Both organizations and groups with a focus on sustainability or social justice can take advantage of the visibility and functionality of being on WiserEarth. Each can have its own page to share information and connect with WiserEarth organizations, groups, people, resources, solutions, jobs, events, and wikipages. However, there are some key distinctions between an organization page and a group page.

What is the relationships between organization pages and group pages?
An organization and a group may be connected in several ways.
One group can be connected to several organizations. There are group modules to display such connections. This is useful if you want to list organizations that are receiving your grants, or those you've partnered with, or those in your network (if you're a coalition), or simply organizations that inspires your group's discussions and activities.
On the other hand, one organization can be connected to several groups. You can use the "Add to a group" feature on the organization page. The connections to groups will then be displayed in your organization's network visualization. If you want to highlight connection to certain groups, you can do that in the About section. You might want to do this if your organization have set up a group space.
Essentially, you are free to mix, match, and connect up organizations and groups however you wish.
You might want to start by creating an organization page for your organization. This will give you basic online presence and discussion space. Then if you want a space for a richer communication and collaboration, create one or more groups for your organization's community of action (board members, staff, partners, donors/supporters, volunteers, fans). When you do that, don't forget to add your organization page to all the groups and highlight key group(s) on the organization page's About section.
Leave a comment below if you have any question or need any help. You can also join a discussion exploring the possibilities of integrating organization and group pages.
Thank you!
