Upload File Tutorial
Summary
File uploads can be used to enhance any of the existing pages on WiserEarth. They also appear as a special category or type of information in WiserEarth Groups and your personal profile. This feature allows you to share files that may be useful to other members and download those which are helpful to you. WiserEarth serves as a repository for the collected data. Any file type may be uploaded, up to 1mb per item.

How to upload a file
The easiest way to go about uploading a document is to first select the location you wish for your upload to appear. As in the examples above, the file upload can be used for many reasons.
Scenario:
For the following tutorial, we will assume that a user wishes to upload a paper that they wrote about energy to their personal profile for others to read and pass around

First Step - Click the "Files and Photos" tab in the upper part of your profile, look for the File Library section, and click Upload a File.

Second Step - Click the Browse button and locate the file on your computer you wish to upload.

Third Step - Change the file name if you wish or leave it as it was on your computer.
|
Fourth and Fifth Step - Give more information about the file. Others will more easily search to find your file.

Sixth Step - When you are satisfied with the information you have provided, click the Upload File button.
|
Final Step - You will be taken back to your profile page when you have completed the process. Scroll down to the File Library section again, to see your file.
