Background
Use this wikipage to list people (user acccounts) which are in fact "Organizations". The end goal is to keep the people directory for people only, and guide organization representatives to create listing in the organization directory.
Whether this is confusion or abuse is not the big issue, but misplaced listings serve no organizational/progress goals. Below is a relevant article from the Terms of Use. in section IV on Member Registration Process and Obligations:
Clean Up Procedure [DRAFT]

2. Create an organization listing for the 'organization' user accounts.

- Notifying that their account will be deactivated and they're encouraged to create a new user account, then add an organization listing.
- Should include newly created organization listing URL (if applicable)

Subject: Creation of listing for your organization and deactivation of your user account.
Hello there,
As you know, WiserEarth is a community of people that relies on the accuracy of the underlying organizations directory. Somehow, during the set up process, you listed your organization on your user account instead of in the directory.
Accordingly, we have created a listing for your organization in WiserEarths directory at:
http://www.wiserearth.org/view/organization/.....
Your user account username will be deactivated within seven days as it is in violation of article IV of WiserEarth's Terms of Use on "Member Registration Process and Obligations":
We will notify you prior to the deactivation so you can create a new user account that represent yourself as a person. Please choose a username that does not reflect your organization in any way. You can then use this new user account to monitor and update your organization listing. Please visit our tutorial page for information.
We apologize for any confusion that this has caused, but we know that you understand the importance of reliable information. Thank you for your kind understanding.
Sincerely and with many thanks,

2nd Form Message/Email [DRAFT]

To be sent prior to deactivation.

Hallo bowo and all!
I took a run at the first letter, but I need to clarify my take on the process: do editors go ahead and try to reset the organization or personal account and THEN notify people?
If so, I will reword the draft to say something like "we have reset the account into the correct category, but we need your help in verifying the listing and maintaining the account. You will have seven days to review and respond to the new account listing before it is marked for deactivation..."
Once I get a handle on that aspect, I will take a run at letter 2...and at clearing up this growing list!
I am excited to catch up on everything that has been happening! ~h |

Hi H,
Thanks for getting into this. This page has not been updated or used in a while, so no, it hasn't been serving it's purpose. Would be great if you can help maintain this wiki and do the contacting work. Since we're not keeping a record of the "form email" being sent out to these users, I suggest we craft another one here. I'll be happy to help update the list and do follow-ups (user deactivation). Thanks! B |

Hallo! Before I add this to my monitor/sweep activities for WE, I thought I would ask about its efficiency/results. Is this page serving its purpose, do we have a "go ahead" with continuing its usage? I am best at the constant background tidying that often gets neglected and this looks like a maintenance issue that I could chip away at while doing Sandbox and AOF work.
All thoughts appreciated! ~heatherlynn |

Hola h!
Thanks for tackling that first letter!
It seems I've created some confusion with the language, so here's some clarifications:
1. First off, our problem here is about organizations listed as users and not the other way around (which have not happened yet to my knowledge and if it does happen, can easily be fixed by changing page status).
2. There are only personal accounts (users) and no organization accounts in WiserEarth. But there are organization listings created by people who have personal accounts. Sorry for the use of "organization accounts", which seem to have caused the confusion here. Changed it to 'organization' user accounts.
3. Only WE admins can deactivate user account, while WE editors can 'remove' organization listings.
4. What editors can do is to help the 'organization' users by creating organization listings. We can then link to this in the letter.
5. Then we notify the people owning those 'organization' user accounts that we will deactivate the user accounts within seven days. There are some cases where simply changing full name and About section of a user profile can remedy the situation. But we should probably do that in the context of deactivation. In other words, if no changes in seven days, we will proceed with deactivation.
Thus, I've edited the form message and remove one step from the procedure. Please edit/comment further.
Cheers and glad to see you back here h!
