Co-Creating a Just, Fulfilling, and Sustainable Region
Centered around Pachamama Alliance's "Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream" Symposium, we believe and work together in community to co-create an Environmentally Sustainable, Spiritually Fulfilling, and Socially Just world.
As the world celebrates the international day of Peace on 21st September 2007 , Media for Peace and Religious Tolerance Organization {MPRTO} would like to join the government of Uganda, the United Nations, Diplomatic missions accredited to Uganda and all loving people of the world in marking this very important and vital day.
MPRTO believes that the international day of Peace should not be dedicated to making speeches only, but should be dedicated to action that brings peace in the whole world.
We should dedicate this year’s international peace day to the Juba peace talks between the government of Uganda and the Lords Resistance Army rebels. There is need for parties at the talks to put peace above their selfish interests.
We at MPRTO believe and pray that the international day of peace is dedicated to ending the war and suffering in northern Uganda, Iraq, Palestine, Afaghanstan, Somalia and the world in general.
Tolerating Diversity is fundamental to making peace in the world, because God created us different so that we may know each other.
We also call upon the media to play its cardinal role of informing and educating the people about the need promote peace, the need to coexistence, the need to address our commonalities and the need to promote tolerance in society.
MPRTO also believes that this day should be for reconciliation in our country and forging the way forward for development.
We also pray that acts that breach peace and cause insecurity worldwide should not be allowed to flourish in our communities.
Happy celebrations
