PURPOSE:

For local non-profit and community group leaders from Sonoma County to gather with the folks at Wiser Earth to discuss how information technology in general (and specifically wiserearth.org) might best be used to help local environmental and social justice organizations be more effective in collaborating with each other and getting their constituents into action.


INTENDED RESULTS:

- For Wiser Earth to learn about the IT challenges of small organizations and local initiatives, and to learn what's important to these groups as they organize, communicate, and take action.
- For local organization and community group leaders to discuss their programs and initiatives, and discover any common IT needs in supporting these programs.

- What are the actions/events/activities that our organizations/groups are engaging in?
- What are the actions/events/activities that our constituents engaging in?
- How might IT help our organizations organize our constituents?
- Do we want to connect with other like-minded organizations? If so, how might IT help our organizations connect with each other? If not, what stops us from wanting to do so?
- What are the IT challenges that our organizations/groups facing?
- What products or websites are we already using? What do we like/not like about them?
- Other questions that people feel should be addressed
