  • where - it sounds like there is commitment to Unity in KC, I honor the generosity, opportunity and commitment made. I sense that this is predominantly a west coast group. I would like to explore models that might make it financially more viable, environmentally friendly, etc. depending on where members are geographically - perhaps we hold two meetings and skype connect, get a sponsor for food and meeting place in Bay and do home shares. Really depends on where participants and potential participants are located.
  • where part II - I think an agenda item that needs to be discussed is timing and location of next meeting. I know Unity in Kansas City was offered up, but I instictually feel that a majority of past and recent participants were Bay Area. If there is strategic outreach to gain more participation geographically from the East Coast then I can see the reason to go to KC (+room and board covered is a great benefit). If we looked at an Urban Retreat we could talk to the Mayors Office or Dept. of Environment in SF about sponsoring something. Also Michael Shaw offered up his property in North Marin, we have many friends at Solstice Grove in Nicassio which is close to Spirit Rock maybe we could do some over nighting and use of SR facilities. I know one concern was overlap with the CSSC event in SF, maybe we hold our event in the city and participate where appropriate in the CSSC event. One reason I think this needs to get determined is so that we can enlist the help of the group in planning it and so we can start building relationship for diversity inclusion.
  • Mapping and building the movement - I would like to spend time as a group looking at how to affect change as a group. Might include looking at ingrediants of successful movements of the past, what is missing in this movement, who needs to be involved, etc. I have done some work in this area, as has Drew and Lawrence, if there is interest, perhaps we could facilitate a group exercise.
